Thank you, Kelly, for your insights. Your comment brings up the idea of trust, and the importance of creating an environment where people feel respected, appreciated, able to reveal what's important to them. With that information, a caring, savvy manager can further motivate, develop and grow a great staff and elicit from them great customer service.

You are dead on regarding the alignment of staffs/teams with personal values and passions. The trick often is getting employees to admit what really curls their toes. Once known it is often a snap to identify the projects and roles that will allow the employee great success and joy and ultimately the business the contribution it desires.
